Fortune SuPoshan is a project that aims to curb Malnutrition and Anaemia amongst children, adolescent girls & women in the reproductive age.<\/h5>\n

What is Fortune SuPoshan?<\/h2>\n

Launched in the year 2016, Fortune SuPoshan \u00a0is a step towards curbing Malnutrition and Anaemia across the areas that are low on health & nutrition indicators in the country. It is an initiative of AWL Agri Business Ltd, one of the largest Food FMCG companies in India and is successfully implemented by Adani Foundation, the CSR arm of the Adani Group.<\/p>\n

The project intends to support Ministry of Women and Child Development\u2019s \u2018Poshan Abhiyaan\u2019, an over-arching project of the Central Government of India by facilitating a community-based model. United Nation\u2019s Sustainable Development Goal Target (2.2) promises to end all forms of malnutrition, including achieving targets on stunting and wasting in children under 5 years of age, and address the nutritional needs of adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women. The project aims to deliver quality services by strengthening the community on health & nutrition and bringing about sustainable changes. <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>

Why Project <\/p>\n

A land of plentiful produce\u2026 yet rampant malnutrition is prevalent across the country. It\u2019s ironic that India is home to the highest number of malnourished children in the World with every third child affected by the condition!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not just poverty, but the lack of knowledge and proliferation of myths that have contributed to this crisis.<\/p>\n

More than 50% of Indian women of reproductive age are anaemic with iron deficiency. This cycle stems from the myths about what, how much, and how many times to eat or feed. Poor hygiene and sanitation add to the hurdles.<\/p>\n

If the issue of Malnutrition & Anaemia are not addressed at an early stage, then it can have grave effects. The short-term effects include recurring illness, weakness, irritability, poor appetite, low weight for age, etc. Long-term adverse effects are delayed physical and mental development, poor learning ability, poor performance at school and poor general health.<\/p>\n

Who are<\/p>\n

SuPoshan Sanginis?<\/h1>\n<\/h2>\n

Suposhan Sangani are dedicated village-level volunteers selected from within the communities we serve. They undergo comprehensive training in health and nutrition, equipping them with the knowledge and technical skills needed to act as vital links between government services and the beneficiaries. These trained volunteers play a crucial role in disseminating essential nutritional information and best practices, ensuring that the benefits of our program reach every corner of the community. By leveraging their local insight and expertise, SuPoshan Sanganis help bridge gaps and foster a healthier, more informed populace.<\/p>\n

A \u2018SuPoshan Sangini\u2019 moves out to identify, refer severe cases of malnutrition to government facilities in consultation and support of Anganwadi and ASHA workers at community level. On the other hand, she makes efforts to strengthen the preventive aspect of malnutrition and anaemia by building awareness and engaging community in demonstrations for household nutritional security and childcare practices.<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>
